So you're sitting in a meeting, and someone mentions enterprise messaging. What is that? Well, it's not email or a chat program. Enterprise messaging is used to get computer systems to reliably talk to each other. As it turns out, getting computers to talk to each other has a lot of tricky problems to it. For example, computer systems are not always on at the same time; computers need to be patched and upgraded. One system is trying to send information to another, and that one is down. It has to handle that situation. Also, computers are not always running at the same speed. One computer may be faster than another, and if he's transferring data to that computer, he can quickly overwhelm that one. An enterprise messaging system provides reliability by handling these types of situations. Of course, that's not all there is to it, but that's for another video.
